About Jim Corbett Safari
A safari tour is the nicest way to get closer to the fiercest wildlife of the park that includes tiger, Himalayan bear, wild boar, jackal, and wild boar. There are 3 types of safaris available in Corbett Park – Jeep Safari, Canter Safari, and Elephant Safari. Amongst these, jeep and elephant safaris have been gaining popularity. Jeep safari with a specialized environmentalist is the top choice for visitors. The park is divided into several zones and safaris can be taken in every zone. The canter safaris run only in Dhikala Zone which is also the main area of the national park. The jeep safari at Dhikala zone is only available for those visitors who have permits to stay at the forest lodges situated in the zone.

Prices and timings
Because of the diverse scenery and sheer size of wilderness, safari timings in Corbett Park are mainly limited to day in two shifts – morning and afternoon. Jim Corbett Safari starts at 6 in the morning and continues till 10.30 am. Then, it resumes at 1:30 in the afternoon and ends at 5:30. The timings change according to seasons and in summer, the afternoon safari can be extended by an hour. However, it is recommended to discuss with the park officials about the safari timings.
There is a maximum limit of 6 persons per jeep and 16 persons per canter. The safari can be booked online up to 30 days in advance for Indians and 90 days in advance for foreigners.

Best time to visit
The park remains open to visitors from November 15 to June 30 and is closed during the remainder of the year because of monsoons. The best time to visit is from November to March when all the zones are open and the likelihood of sighting tigers in their natural habitat is high. Summers are to be avoided because it is quite hot and humid with temperature soaring to 40 degrees Celsius. But if someone is willing to bear the little heat then it is the best time to see wildlife and in plenty.
